Here’s an art exhibition with a difference. Housewarming, a FREE entry show organised by Art Friend is taking place in a derelict townhouse which is being transformed into an immersive art gallery for two weeks,
All the pieces are available to buy with proceeds going to the homeless charity, Crisis. There will be a selection of artworks from 14 contemporary artists across a range of different mediums.
The pieces on display range from large-scale murals to mixed media collages, experimental photography to oil paintings and drawings and screen prints to cutting edge abstracts.
One of the artists that’s caught our eye is Dave Buonaguidi. If you’ve got a spare £240 to donate to Crisis you can get your mitts on his London Is Always A Good Idea or Norf Sarf. His work is heavily influenced by his background in advertising and reflects his love for the colour pink – and we love ’em!
Other artists include Adam Bartlett, Charlotte Farmer, Craig Keenan, Dawn Beckles and Hannah Gilson.
Founder of Art Friend, Shona Bland says, “What better way to view art than actually on the walls of a house where it will end up!”
“As well as allowing us to use an exhibition space outside of pricey central London galleries, we hope this highlights the unused spaces across London while millions are without permanent living solutions. This is why we’re giving all of the proceeds to Crisis.”
If you’d like to attend the exhibition you’ll need to RSVP as places are limited and opening hours vary. There’s also a cool launch party on the opening night with a disco and cocktails plus a top performance artist, but tickets are going very quickly so don’t hang about.
