So the election campaign is finally over – it’s more of an election post-mortem now – and the weekend has begun. Thank God for that! Here’s our top tips to forget all about it and get in the Christmas mood.

====

Where better to get away from it all than with a charity Pantomime Horse Race. The whacky races are back for its 10th year raising money for good causes. The theme this year is Star Wars so look out for an intergalactic show before anyone bolts and GGs gallop around the streets of Greenwich.

Along with the ‘Equine Strides Back’ vibes there’ll also be a ‘Strictly Neigh Dancing’ to get everyone in the mood early doors. And in true British style, there’ll be numerous pub stops (for two and four-legged types) along the way!

Sun 15th Dec, from 11.30am: Pantomime Horse Race
Fun starts at Devonport House, King William Walk, SE10

Kapten is the new London cab app. With fixed prices and a loyalty scheme, try it! We’re running an exclusive Skint offer and giving away half-price rides in December. Including New Year’s Eve! This is up to £25 FREE cab credit.  Make Christmas cheaper! You can even order an environmentally friendly electric car.

If you really want to get as far as you can from politics hit up King’s Cross and have a good old fashioned sing-a-long with Bjorn the Polar Bear.

The big friendly giant is travelling the globe helping spread some Xmas cheer…. and some vital info about protecting the environment.

The shows are FREE to see. Plus visitors young and old can even give him a stroke if you’re brave enough; he’s animatronic after all. Oh and if you time it well, there’s a choir to enjoy on Sunday.

Sat 14th & Sun 15th Dec, various times: Bjorn the Polar Bear
Coal Drops Yard, Stable Street, N1C 4DQ
FREE – for more info click here

If the little ones need entertained get down to this fascinating and FREE afternoon looking back at WW2 at the National Army Museum.
